Charles J. Abel
Charles J. Abel is an associate at the firm. Charles grew up in the Des Moines area and graduated from Iowa State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Interdisciplinary studies (Criminology and Criminal Justice). Charles then received his Juris Doctorate from Southern Illinois University in 2018 and joined the firm in 2019. While in law school, Charles served as a staff member and associate commentary editor for SIU’s Journal of Legal Medicine. Charles was also selected to be a member of the SIU Law Moot Court Board and was later elected amongst his peers to serve as associate justice of the board. Upon graduating, Charles was named a member of The Order of Barristers which is limited to graduating law students who demonstrate exceptional advocacy and brief writing skills. Prior to joining the firm, Charles worked as a law clerk at Malloy Law Firm, L.L.P. in West Des Moines and Hesse Martone, P.C. in St. Louis, and interned for the Honorable Judge Phillip Palmer of the First Judicial Circuit in Illinois.
Charles handles a wide range of cases focusing on criminal law, civil litigation, employment and labor law, estate planning, business, corporation and LLC entity formation, and overall maintains a general practice.
Charles enjoys spending time with his fiancé and son, watching the Iowa State Cyclones and the Green Bay Packers, exercising, and going to local scouting events.
