Laura’s passion for helping people shows in her areas of practice; she brings a caring nature and proven experience to guide clients through difficult issues in the most favorable way possible. She knows how hard it can be to experience unrest and wants to help make sorting through it as painless as possible.
Laura R. Murphy is LGL’s chief handler of all marriage dissolution/divorce cases, while simultaneously serving clients in numerous other areas of legal need.
Laura’s areas of practice are diverse including civil litigation, dissolution of marriage and child custody matters, and estate planning. In addition, she also has expertise in guardianships, conservatorships, and corporate law. Her compassion, ability to listen, determination, and fast response time make for supportive relationships with her clients. Her goal is to respond to clients the same business day or within 24 hours to keep the process moving forward smoothly.
For the extent of her years of practice, Laura’s immense empathy and dedication to top-level client advocacy have guided clients through difficult issues in the most favorable way possible. Since receiving her Bachelor’s of Science at the University of Northern Iowa in Criminology and Sociology in 2002 and obtaining her Juris Doctorate from the University of Tulsa College of Law in 2005, Laura has been very involved in professional associations including the Iowa State Bar Association and Polk County Bar Association. She is passionate and involved with the Ankeny community. She currently resides in Ankeny, Iowa with her husband and two children.
